Texture with Confidence
St. Lawrence College and Kingston Economic Development have partnered to provide a hands-on upskill training program led by industry professionals of Efe Magazine for local stylists and barbers. Training sessions will be available FREE of charge for eligible industry professionals to advance their skills working with multiple textures of hair.

Delivery Schedule:
Sessions 1 – 4 are prerequisites for participants who plan to attend the additional sessions 5 – 8
· Session 1: Sunday, Jan. 22, 2023 – Representation Matters – The Importance of Diversity
· Session 2: Monday, Jan. 23, 2023n – Removing the Fear – Understanding Stigma
· Session 3: Feb. 5, 2022 – Identifying Textures – Needs and Characteristics
· Session 4: Monday, Feb 6, 2022 – “Natural Hair Journey”
· Session 5: Sunday, Feb. 19, 2022 – Cutting Different Textures – Understanding Shapes and Movement
· Session 6: Monday, Feb. 20, 2022 – Barbering – Scissor and Clipper Cutting
· Session 7: Sunday, March 5, 2022 – Chemical Services – Colours, Relaxers, Perms, etc.
· Session 8: Monday, March 6, 2022 – Finishing – Manipulating Hair Structure
Sessions run at St. Lawrence College Kingston Campus from 9:30 am – 2:00 pm
