Project Management 101 for Women Entrepreneurs

How can a knowledge of project management help create better success for your small business? Join us to find out as we explore the basics together.

Project management is the practice of using skills and techniques to complete a series of tasks. And we all know there are endless tasks to perform as a small business owner!

When done well, project management can lead to improved communication, enhanced consumer satisfaction, better risk management and increased productivity.

In this 90-minute workshop, Cher Powers, Business Development and Commercialization Manager for the Ontario Centre for Innovation (OCI) will share tools, tips and tricks related to:

· Project Planning

· Defining Scope and Priorities

· and Managing Progress

This workshop will also explore multiple project management tools which are available for various project types and management style.

ABOUT CHER:

Cher Powers is an experienced professional with extensive project management, operations management and partnership development experience in the Canadian innovation ecosystem, including 15 years working with start-ups and SMEs to develop and scale up their operations and technologies.

She has a degree in Global Development Studies (Queen’s University), a Chemical Engineering Technician Diploma (Loyalist College) and is currently completing an MBA through the Carleton University Sprott School of Business.

Cher is also a Manager of Business Development and Commercialization at Ontario Centre of Innovation (OCI) for the Eastern Ontario region and is passionate about facilitating connections and building relationships in the innovation ecosystem.
