This premier event features leading economic experts offering valuable insights into current and future economic trends, tailored for the Kingston business community.

The event includes:

  • Keynote Presentation: Stephen Tapp, Chief Economist at the Canadian Chamber of Commerce, will provide expert analysis of national and global economic conditions.
  • Panel Discussion: Economic experts Marwa Abdou, Senior Research Director, and Andrew DiCapua, Senior Economist at the Canadian Chamber of Commerce, will explore key data and trends specific to Kingston, delivering actionable insights for local businesses.

Speaker Highlights:

Stephen Tapp – Chief Economist, Canadian Chamber of Commerce
A member of the Chamber’s executive leadership team, Stephen leads the Business Data Lab and provides economic analysis and research. With over 20 years of experience at Canada’s top economic organizations, Stephen brings unparalleled expertise to the discussion. He is also President of the Canadian Association for Business Economics, a member of the Canadian Statistics Advisory Council, and holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Queen’s University.

Marwa Abdou – Senior Research Director, Canadian Chamber of Commerce
Marwa leads the BDL’s Research Center of Excellence, championing impactful research for vulnerable groups and SMEs. She has worked with world-renowned organizations and governments, contributing significant studies such as “A Portrait of Small Business in Canada” and “Barely Breaking Ground”. She holds a master’s degree in international relations and economics from Johns Hopkins University and a bachelor’s degree in finance and economics from Queen’s University.

Andrew DiCapua – Senior Economist, Canadian Chamber of Commerce
Andrew focuses on helping businesses navigate changing economic conditions through rigorous analysis and forecasting. With extensive experience at Export Development Canada and expertise in trade consultancy, Andrew’s insights help shape policy discussions to drive economic growth. He holds an honors degree in Economics from Queen’s University.
