Scaling Up: Getting Your Food Products to Market

November 10, 2023 @ 9:00 am - 4:00 pm

If you are interested in scaling up your food production business or starting one, the City of Kingston, the Township of South Frontenac and our partners are here to help you.

There are resources available to grow your food business, including three commercial kitchens in Kingston and a hall in South Frontenac. Anyone who is looking to produce and sell food can access these facilities.

Building off the first food production event that took place in February 2023, this event aims to help food processors scale up their production and take their business to the next level. There is a lot to know about food production, regulations, and resources. We are here to provide that support.

From renting and using a commercial kitchen to understanding all the regulations and food safety requirements, to getting your product on the shelves and marketing, this training day will walk you through every step of scaling up your food business.

This is a great opportunity for those who already have a product and have begun production but are looking to grow their business. Information will also be shared for those who are looking to start a new food production business.

Representatives from the City of Kingston, South Frontenac, the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, KFLA Public Health, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency, and industry experts will be on hand for this full-day training event and give you all the tools you need to scale up your food production.

Tickets are $20 a person and lunch will be provided including vegetarian options. Free parking is available on-site.

Accommodations are also available for participants. Please contact Amber Bryant-Peller for more information: ABryant-Peller@CityofKingston.ca, 343-363-0714.

Spots are limited so if you register for the event but are no longer able to attend, please let us know so we can offer your spot to someone on the waiting list.
